A Wonderful Week!

It has been a busy week of team building, new learning challenges and self regulation activities! Every student has demonstrated curiosity and kindness everyday. I am feeling very lucky to have such a wonderful grade 6 class! Let the adventure begin.

Sky Science is Out of this World! By Foster We made a solar system out of papermache so we can learn about planets in a different way. First we picked our planets by pulling popsicle sticks and choosing the one we were most interested in. Next we researched our planets only using trusted websites. We researched interesting facts, appearance, diameter, rotation and revolution period, and weather of our planets. Our next step was building a replica of our planet. We built our planets using papermache and balloons. We needed to know the colour and texture of our planets to be able to replicate them accurately. Finally we presented our research and slide to the class. You can see the presentations under the science section of the blog. We had some challenges with group work like people not doing their jobs. Volleyball in Phys Ed

Volleyball in Phys Ed By: Shawn We have started by learning how to play volleyball in Phys Ed. In the Philippines we don't play volleyball but we play basketball. This is the first time I am ever playing volleyball. We are learning how to hit the ball correctly and how to pass the ball to other people. Some skills that we learned so far is volley, bump and serve I enjoy our Phys Ed class now because it teaches me all the skills we need to know about volleyball so that I can become a good player. I like working as a team because I like how we cooperate and how we communicate with each other during the game.

The Gliding Parachutes

The gliding parachutes in grade 6! By Daiki June 8th, 2018 We were at the top of the stairs at the new school and we all had are magnificent idea of parachutes and we used our creative brain set and used materials that we usually use for shopping. We first learned the forces of air like thrust,drag,lift and weight. It was a fun learning and I honestly liked learning about the four forces of flight. One of the best part was when we put a egg in the carrier and let the parachutes drift some didn't work as they thought and the eggs broke into many pieces with the yoke coming out it was one of are funnest science experiments. I love science!
