We day a time of celebrating being one. Celebrating people making a difference and especially standing up and making the world a better place. All of us had a lot of fun. We saw a lot of cool and inspiring people who make a difference. For me, the hosts were really cool. Summer from wonder was there and a guy named Stuart was there. He didn't have any feet and he walked with his hands.  Stuart had a talk show in we day.  He talked with Miss Universe and that was really cool. He talked with many other people. Another thing that made the show fun was the two djs they were cool. They made us laugh jump and sing also scream. There were a lot of schools that made a difference for the world all of them got seen by this big white light that was hanging on the roof then got introduced by Summer. Well that's what we day is all about making a difference.

Building a Model By Erin        Almost every science period Sandra Becker from the university from Calgary  comes to our class to do research, then we go to the makerspace lab to work on our models. Our models are a deep thinking question about sky science that we did research on, to eventually start building a model to show the answer to our question. Some of our questions changed after doing some research. We have to use flexible thinking because maybe the model that we had in mind doesn't work, so we have to change it to make it work. At the end of every work period we write in our log books. We use the log book because it shows our thinking throughout the process of making our models.         My question is, why is there microgravity in space? My question has changed after doing some research. It is now why do planets orbit. This relates back to my original question because the answer is because of the sun's gravity. Welcome to 6M!

Hello parents and students of 6M! My name is Natalie Major and this will be my second year teaching Grade 6 at BES. I have been in the Canadian Rockies School Division since 2013.  In 2012 I visited Canmore from Ontario and fell in love with the mountains instantly. The following year I made the move permanently to start my life in the beautiful Bow Valley. I love the active lifestyle that the Rockies has and feel very grateful that I can share my passion  for learning with the Banff community.  I will be using this blog to post updates, assignments and reminders on a regular basis.
